About the role

This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that meet district curriculum requirements and showing evidence of preparation as required. Responsibilities also include preparing lessons to accommodate different learning styles, establishing classroom management procedures, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for diverse learning styles
• Present subject matter according to guidelines set by TEA, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations
• Structure a physically conducive classroom and establish efficient classroom management procedures
• Evaluate students' progress and report to parents as needed
• Plan and coordinate the work of aides and paraprofessionals
• Work cooperatively with the principal to develop evaluation systems
• Keep accurate records and compile required reports and documents
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certification with appropriate subject and subject level endorsements
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Knowledge of routine tasks, duties, and procedures with the ability to follow specific instructions with minimal experience
• Ability to present subject matter according to TEA, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations
• Knowledge of classroom management and ability to structure a classroom conducive to learning
• Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing world and willingness to stay current in the profession
