Position Overview

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join their inpatient Palliative Care team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient palliative care consultations and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans.
  • Aid patients and families with symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, advance care planning, and end-of-life care needs.
  • Participate in educational activities involving medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, program development, and academic initiatives within the division.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current or eligible North Carolina licensure.
  • Board certification as: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • Eligibility for hospital privileges at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous palliative care, hospice, critical care, or ICU experience.
  • Completion of a Palliative Care Fellowship Program.
  • Certification in hospice and palliative care, including: Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (ACHPN), or NCCPA Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
