Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant

Job Summary

Busy neurosurgery practice seeking mid-level provider (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant).

Job Duties

• Obtaining detailed history
• Performing physical exams
• Evaluating and treating patients
• Rounding at several different hospitals
• Ordering/interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests
• Assisting with the provision of surgical care
• Monitoring the effectiveness of interventions
• Aiding in patient education
• Prescribing appropriate medications
• Assisting surgeons during operative procedures
• Providing follow-up care for patients in the clinic

Requirements

• Computer skills and ability to document using an electronic medical record
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work closely with the healthcare team including nurses, medical assistants, and other mid-level providers
• Possession of conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• APRN: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, Current APRN Kansas licensure, current Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Full time Monday-Friday. One weekend per year working with the neurosurgeon on call.
