About the role
This position is located at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Fort Campbell, Tennessee.
A majority of Fort Campbell is located in Tennessee, but the post office that serves the base is just across the Kentucky border, giving on post residents and the installation itself the designation of being located in Kentucky.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent preventive, therapeutic, and comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care.
- Collaborate with physicians regarding patient management, to include evaluating and revising therapeutic plans and managing high-risk, unstable, or extremely complex patients, including the intrapartum setting within scope of practice.
- Serve as project lead or associate in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of obstetrics/gynecology healthcare.
- Perform and/or request laboratory, radiologic and other diagnostic and screening tests.
- Independently manage labor and childbirth in accordance with clinical privileges.
- Oversee compliance/adherence with the preventive health care needs of all patients visiting the obstetrics/gynecology clinic.
- Provide teaching to patients and their families regarding disease processes and diagnostic tests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- US Citizens
- Basic Requirement: A graduate or higher-level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Midwifery is required.
- Experience: One or more full years of professional nursing experience which includes ordering and interpreting lab results; managing labor and childbirth; and prescribing medications.
- Requirements: Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
