About the role
The Urgent Care Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role at Children’s Wisconsin involves providing comprehensive pediatric primary health care to children from birth through young adulthood. This includes managing common pediatric acute injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions, and supporting each patient’s primary care medical home to prevent unnecessary use of emergency services.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pediatric primary health care to children from birth through young adulthood.
- Manage common pediatric acute injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions.
- Support each patient’s primary care medical home to prevent unnecessary use of emergency services.
Requirements
- Current CPR certification – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross.
- Nurse Practitioner: Wisconsin RN License, Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nursing Prescriber License, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification or Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Physician Assistant: Wisconsin Physician Assistant License, Certification by NCCPA, AHA BLS, DEA.
Qualifications
- At least one year of previous APP practice involving pediatrics.
