About the Role

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant will function within the scope of practice as defined by the state nurses practice act, delineation of privileges set forth by the practice setting, and the American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics. The APP utilizes the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.

As licensed independent providers, APPs practice autonomously and in consultation with a collaborating/supervising physician and health care professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients’ health problems/needs. The APP will perform patient histories and physical examinations via a telemedicine platform to determine working differential diagnoses and develop individualized plans of care.

Responsibilities

  • Order, perform, supervise, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Provide therapeutic measures as appropriate.
  • Deliver teaching, education, and counseling to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Formulate diagnoses in consultation with a collaborating/supervising physician for uncommon or unstable conditions, and either refer to a specialist or participate in dual management and treatment.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Serve as health care researchers, interdisciplinary consultants, and patient advocates.
  • Prescribe medications where clinically indicated, in accordance with current APP prescribing guidelines, state, and federal law, and ensure proper documentation in the patient’s chart.
  • Maintain continuing education as mandated by certifying organizations to stay current with medical trends and provide evidence-based practice medicine.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Nationally certified to provide health and medical care via telemedicine platform in internal medicine.
  • Master’s Degree – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • New Jersey Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant licensure and Board certification.
  • BLS certification.

Schedule

Full-time; work remote 5 days per week.
