About the Role

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Sleep Medicine practices in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. While experience in Sleep Medicine is preferred, it is not required. The role requires Indiana and Ohio licensing, as travel between locations may be needed.

Responsibilities

  • Function autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex, chronic, and acute patients.
  • Order, perform, and analyze diagnostic and therapeutic tests, following up regularly to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments to ensure health and comfort.
  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with external physicians to make appropriate referrals.
  • Interact with staff to provide quality patient care.
  • Provide educational tools for self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
  • Respond to patients’ phone calls and Epic “My Chart” messages regarding treatment plans and medications daily.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer references with insurance companies and third parties to obtain certification for lab, x-ray, and pharmacological treatments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure outstanding patient care and satisfaction.

Work Environment

  • Potential exposure to chemical vapors (e.g., acetone, disinfectants) and skin contact with these substances.
  • Possible exposure to infectious agents, including blood-borne pathogens, with appropriate protective garments provided.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, use of hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, talking, or hearing.
  • Occasional walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • DEA license required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

For Nurse Practitioners:

  • Acute Care, Adult, or Family Nurse Practitioner certification verified by AACN, AANP, or ANCC.
  • Current, valid license by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state board.

For Physician Assistants:

  • Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program with a Master’s Degree.
  • Physician Assistant Certification verified by NCCPA.
  • Current, valid license by the State Medical Board of Ohio or applicable state medical board.
  • Current Certificate to prescribe by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
