About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a vital member of our Rapid Response team, working collaboratively with medical and bedside nursing staff to respond to acute changes in patient status, including adult medical alerts. The APP performs comprehensive health assessments and manages patients with acute health problems.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient histories, physical exams, and coordination of patient care within the practice.
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and reassessments according to department standards.
- Assist with various procedures and surgeries, including coordinating patient cases.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Implement and adhere to practice policies and procedures.
- Perform patient assessments, order and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g., radiology, labs, ECGs).
- Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for medical conditions.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, interventions, and health promotion.
- Document patient teaching, discharge summaries, and progress notes.
- Refer and communicate abnormalities to the primary medical team.
- Serve as a resource for nursing and ancillary staff regarding patient and disease management.
- Address clinical patient care issues, concerns, and follow-ups.
- Actively participate in the sepsis reduction program.
- Compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care.
- Identify areas for improvement in policies or patient care, initiate change, and educate staff.
- Regularly communicate with nursing leadership and staff regarding patient care issues.
- Thoroughly explain procedures to patients prior to testing and provide appropriate patient teaching.
- Other duties as assigned by the physician.
Requirements
- Master’s prepared in Nursing from an accredited program (for Nurse Practitioners).
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey (for Nurse Practitioners).
- Certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of New Jersey (for Nurse Practitioners).
- APN License (for Nurse Practitioners).
- PA License (for Physician Assistants).
- NCCPA certification (for Physician Assistants).
- CDS, DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
- 2+ years of experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider.
- Critical care experience preferred.
Pay
The anticipated hourly wage range for this position in New Jersey is $57.69 - $81.73 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Schedule
Per diem, night shifts.
