Advanced Practice Provider Orthopedic Surgery
About the Role
Join a collegial team of supportive, board-certified providers as an orthopedic surgery advanced practitioner in Silverdale, WA. You will assist in the surgical suite, including first assist, wound closure, application of internal devices, and other delegated procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative care in clinics
- Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests in clinics
- Formulate treatment plans for orthopedic conditions within scope of practice
- Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising orthopedic surgeon or other healthcare professionals
- Order, collect, and perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies (e.g., routine lab tests, EMG, electrocardiogram, radiologic examinations including arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and bone scans)
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspirations and injections of joints, bursae, and cysts
- Apply braces, casts, splints, and other orthopedic appliances
- Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, take call, and see patients in the ED for the orthopedic surgeon if needed
Requirements
- At least one year of experience as an ARNP or Physician Assistant
- Surgical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) preferred
- Washington State license in good standing
- Board certified
- DEA, NPI, and prescriptive authority
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
Schedule
Average schedule is Monday-Friday, consisting of OR (surgery) with some clinic/hospital work. Opportunity for scheduling flexibility, with availability for occasional weekend cases if needed.
