Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Colorectal Surgery - Outpatient Powell
Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN or PA-C in the State of Ohio required.
About the role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care, focusing on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and certifying organization through which they hold licensure.
This role provides comprehensive care for patients with colorectal and anal cancers, including both pre-operative and post-operative management. The APP will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative oncology program dedicated to advancing patient outcomes, education, and innovation in colorectal cancer care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients throughout their treatment journey for colorectal and anal cancers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions.
- Support the growth of anal cancer education and screening initiatives.
- Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio, or eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C.
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing (Master of Science Degree in Nursing), or graduate of a PA-C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
