Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) – Outpatient Urology

About the role

The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients in the outpatient Urology clinic. The role involves working closely with urologists and other members of the healthcare team to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new and established patients in the outpatient Urology clinic.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and assess patient symptoms.
• Develop treatment recommendations and management plans for a variety of urologic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and imaging results.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with urologists and other members of the healthcare team to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support Carilion Clinic's commitment to exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Virginia licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
• Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous urology or surgical specialty experience is preferred but not required.
