About the role
This position requires one day a week at the Williamsburg clinic and one day a week in Richmond.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex responses.
- Aids the health care team in preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, and providing comfort.
- Performs interventions similar to basic nursing but with greater depth and complexity.
- Works under the supervision of physicians and makes clinical decisions independently.
- Sets their own schedule and allocates time between patient care and other activities.
- Manages their workload and prioritizes tasks.
Requirements
- Licensure, certification, or registration requirements for hire: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligibility to practice as NP in the specialty area.
- Licensure, certification, or registration requirements for continued employment: Current RN licensure in Virginia.
- Credentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws for specific job title.
- Licensure to practice as NP in the specialty area in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Prescriptive authority when required.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a RN.
- Two (2) years within the specialty practice area preferred.
- Advanced Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership Role experience preferred.
Education/Training
- Required: Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program specific to area of practice.
- Potential: Applicants with current advanced practice licensure may be within one semester of graduation from obtaining a MSN degree or higher, which must be completed within six months of hire.
