Location & Commitments

Full-time role based at our Greenville location, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Shared call duties required.

Reports to Department Physicians, area manager(s), and Chief Operating Officer.

Requires prolonged standing or sitting, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching, and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate office equipment.

About The Role

Our growing private Hematology and Oncology practice is seeking a compassionate, highly skilled, and patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multidisciplinary cancer care team. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians to provide comprehensive care for patients with malignant and benign disorders throughout the continuum of treatment. This position includes professional medical care for outpatient clinic patients following established standards and practices, including on-site infusion center, symptom management, chemotherapy and immunotherapy clearance visits, and participation in a shared call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with consults, new patients, and daily visits.
• Assist with chemotherapy orders.
• Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients; review patient records.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
• Establish presumptive diagnosis; order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform independent evaluations and treatment.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications.
• Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
• Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
• Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
• Utilize practice/hospital guidelines and standardized procedures in collaboration with the supervising physician(s) in providing medical care to patients.

Requirements

• Licensed as a PA-C or NP in the state of North Carolina and DEA license.
• At least three years of post-graduate experience as a provider in a related setting.
• Experience and knowledge of an EMR system, voice dictation (Dragon), and strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently under indirect supervision.
• Strong clinical judgment to determine when a supervising physician should be consulted.
• Flexible and adaptable with a focus on not turning any patient away before exhausting all reasonable options.
