About the role

Join a very busy GI practice seeing up to 16 patients a day. Work with 7 providers and 9 fellows. Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans for patients with digestive disorders. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams. Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans for patients with digestive disorders.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • Must have at least 2 years exp. as a provider.
  • Current Illinois license as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
  • Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an APP in primary care or a related field is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Qualifications

Pay

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a salaried position. Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20-63.65 hr.
