About the role

The Cardiac ICU is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with experience in ECMO, MCS, and Cardiac Surgery to join our team. This role involves providing advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and leading the ICU team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions in the ICU, including those requiring ECMO and MCS.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, and specialists to perform complex cardiac surgeries such as heart transplants, LVAD placements, and coronary artery bypass surgeries.
  • Maintain and manage patients pre- and post-surgery, ensuring optimal outcomes in high-acuity settings.
  • Lead and guide the ICU team in delivering evidence-based practices and cutting-edge cardiac interventions.
  • Serve as a critical resource for families, providing support and education during challenging moments.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with NP certification (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care preferred).
  • Extensive experience in Cardiac ICU or related critical care settings.
  • Proficiency in managing patients on ECMO and Mechanical Circulatory Support devices.
  • Strong understanding of cardiac surgery and post-operative care for patients undergoing complex procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with an interdisciplinary team.
