About the role
Sentara Medical Group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Outpatient Behavioral Health Care Center at 801 Triton Ct, Newport News, VA 23606. The position offers a standard Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule serving a diverse adult patient population with conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, and substance use disorders. Providers manage an average daily caseload of 13–14 patients, conducting 60‑minute initial evaluations and 30‑minute follow‑up appointments, and are part of a health system that emphasizes primary‑care and behavioral‑health integration, innovative care delivery, and a mission to improve health every day. Responsibilities
- Provide care for new and established patients (primarily adults)
- Medication management
- Respond to MyChart messages
- Manage an average daily caseload of 13–14 patients
- Conduct 60‑minute initial evaluations and 30‑minute follow‑up appointments
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant credential
- Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings
