About the role

The Advanced Practice Nurse on the Burn Service at Loyola University Medical Center will care for both adult and pediatric burn patients across the inpatient and outpatient continuum, with a pediatric focus as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Care for both adult and pediatric burn patients across the inpatient and outpatient continuum, with a pediatric focus as part of the role.
• Responsible for floor management, daily care planning, clinical coordination, family communication, and disposition planning to ensure safe, timely, and patient-centered transitions of care.
• Collaborate with the burn multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care tailored to the unique needs of pediatric burn patients and their families.
• Work closely with pediatric service lines and multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, rehabilitation, social work, nutrition, child life, case management, and consulting specialties.
• Continuously involve in longitudinal care through selected burn clinic staffing, supporting continuity after discharge and addressing wound care, recovery, rehabilitation needs, and family education.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Master's Degree
• Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
• Licensure/Certifications: CPR, ACLS, Nursing – Current Registered Nurse License – State of Illinois (RN), Nursing Practitioner License – State of Illinois (APN), Physician Assistant License – State of Illinois (PA)

Qualifications

• Preferred: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with pediatric care
