Advanced Practice Provider

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients within a detailed scope of practice under the direct supervision of a collaborative physician, physician site leader, and practice manager.

Responsibilities

• Completes physicals
• Orders diagnostic and therapeutic modalities: e.g., laboratory, x-ray, EKG, etc.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management
• Prescribes medications
• Instructs and educates patients and their families in proper healthcare, appropriate illness prevention, and home care
• Documents in the patient chart progress notes, orders, etc.

Requirements

• Credentialed as a mid-level provider by the same hospital(s) in which the collaborative physician has admitting privileges
• Primary care opportunity based in Hannibal, Missouri

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school for Nurse Practitioners OR Physician Assistant-Master’s Degree
• Licensed or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Missouri
• Previous Experience (1+ years as practicing APP) in primary care or similar setting is preferred
