Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Diagnostic Radiology

Position Summary

The Department of Radiology at UTMB is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their team in supporting high-demand diagnostic and interventional imaging services. This role plays a critical part in enhancing patient care, improving operational efficiency, and supporting radiologists in performing complex procedures across breast, pediatric, neuro, and musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists during procedures in neuro, breast, pediatric, and MSK imaging.
• Support pediatric fluoroscopy procedures, including barium swallows.
• Prepare and educate patients before procedures, including reviewing medical history, confirming appointments, and verifying coagulation and other pre-procedure labs.
• Manage post-procedure follow-up and patient communication to ensure continuity of care.
• Cook up patient flow, verify pre-procedure requirements, and manage logistics to maintain timely, safe, and efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with active licensure in Texas.
• Prior experience in radiology, procedural support, or related clinical areas preferred.
• Excellent clinical judgment, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate complex workflows and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
