Advanced Practice Provider - APP - Cardiothoracic Surgery

This role involves providing advanced practice support in cardiac surgery, including first assisting in the operating room, performing endoscopic vein harvesting, and managing outpatient clinic duties within an academic, research-focused hospital environment that emphasizes collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

• First assist in the operating room
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
• Manage outpatient clinic duties
• Patient consultation and documentation
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Perform bedside procedures such as chest tube and line placements
• Evaluate and manage patients in the clinic
• Manage call responsibilities approximately once weekly and every fifth weekend (on-call performed remotely but requires hospital arrival within 35 minutes)

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in cardiac surgery
• Surgical first assisting and EVH competency
• Certification as a Physician Assistant
• Ability to obtain Missouri licensure
