About the role
The West Virginia University Health System is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join our dynamic team. As part of the state's largest health system and private employer, you'll have the opportunity to work in various settings including critical access hospitals, community sites, regional and academic medical centers.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive management of hospitalized patients
- Coordination of medical/surgical specialty teams
- Development and review of comprehensive patient care plans
- Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Perioperative services
- Ambulatory management and discharge planning
- Education of residents and medical/nursing students
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Documentation of care and interventions
- Outcomes measurement and reporting
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree in Nursing, National Certification, West Virginia RN and NP licenses, BLS certification
- Physician Assistant: Master’s Degree in Medical/Surgical PA, NP certification, WV license, BLS certification
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Medical/Surgical PA
- National Certification by recognized APRN Certification Centers
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
- Experience in acute care or hospitalist settings preferred
