Advanced Practice Professional Fellow
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a personalized professional development plan that aligns with and supports the formal learning goals, curriculum and transition to practice training of the APP fellowship sponsored by Onvida Health. This includes ensuring safe, compassionate, appropriate and cost-effective patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings.
Participate in self-directed learning and a structured competency-based educational program that aligns with the ACGME hematology and medical oncology competencies.
Assume the role of teacher, leader and professional role model. Completion of the fellowship is based upon successful performance and progress. While in the training program, all fellows will function with initial preceptor supervision with progression to independent practice. Training programs are structured to permit fellows to assume increasing levels of responsibility corresponding with their individual growth process in experience, skill, knowledge and judgement.
Participate in the core rotations, didactics and required educational activities of the program including designated specialty specific training. Perform complex hematologic/oncologic patient assessments, treatment plans, and skills with increasing autonomy, abiding by scope of practice and privileges granted. Consult preceptors when indicated. If competency has not been established, skills will be performed under preceptor supervision until competence is documented, then independently as permitted.
Promote and actively participate in quality improvement, foundational research and evidence-based medicine. Designated courses and an evidence-based project presentation will be required for the APP fellow.
Meet institutional and program requirements with respect to documentation and timely completion of medical records (see medical records policy).
Participate in creating a positive learning environment with self, patients and the interdisciplinary team.
Follow a personal program of self-evaluation and improvement as related to professional development as an APP fellow.
Receptive to feedback as offered by PD, faculty and preceptors on a continuous basis and be willing to offer constructive feedback to colleagues, peers, faculty, and staff.
