Advanced Practice Nurse; Psychiatry

About the role

Under the clinical direction of the Chief of Psychiatry, provides primary services to agency clients/patients. Maintains required records and documentation. Provides consultation to other Center staff as requested.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing and valid Ohio license
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in Ohio
• Current, full, active certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body
• Ability to obtain a valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
• Must work within a Standard Care Arrangement
• May be required to travel between sites as necessary
• 2 years of advanced practice nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Provides routine evaluations and follow up care for agency clients/patients
• Utilizes evidenced-based nursing practice or physician assistant practice appropriate to the setting
• Identifies professional learning curve and routinely engages in formal and/or informal clinical supervision appropriate to needs
• Maintains medical charts, records and documentation in accordance with standard nursing practice and agency policies
• Completes clinical work tasks during work hours each day
• Provides assistance and direction to agency staff in establishing treatment/service plans, as needed
• Knows and utilizes system resources
• Identifies system limitations and problem solves to meet client needs

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional Clinical environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required for meetings, presentations, trainings and other events. This position does not supervise any position.
