Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner)

About the role

Nurse Practitioners at the Indian Health Service are dedicated to improving the health of American Indian and Alaska Native communities. You will provide compassionate care in areas where it is most needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans
• Conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families
• Participate in community health programs and outreach efforts

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in a state that participates in the Indian Health Service program
• Experience in providing healthcare services to American Indian and Alaska Native populations
• Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
• Passing scores on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty area
• Experience working in a healthcare setting serving diverse populations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Hours may vary based on department needs, but generally include a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts.
