ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSE-CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETIST

About the role

The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Cook County and SEIU Union. Cook County will consider internal applicants first before external applicants.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthetic agents and adjuvants to patients undergoing various surgical and obstetrical procedures.
• Evaluate patient preparation for anesthesia and surgery.
• Maintain accurate records of anesthesia, medications, and fluids used.
• Support patient ventilation and monitor vital functions.
• Interpret patient responses and take corrective action as necessary.
• Participate in clinical conferences and educational programs.
• Provide anesthesia services including monitored anesthesia care, regional, and general anesthesia.

Requirements

• Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois or eligible to obtain within two weeks.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Master’s degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program or eligibility to complete within two weeks.
• Active CPR and ACLS certifications or ability to obtain within two weeks.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or ability to obtain within two weeks.
• Experience and knowledge in anesthesia and related pharmacology agents.

• Progressive experience and advanced knowledge in a specialized area of clinical nursing.
• Ability to work as a team member and under pressure.
• Analytical ability and communication skills.
• Physical, mental, and muscular coordination.

Skills

• Knowledge of anesthesia and related pharmacology agents.
• Ability to work with anesthesia machines, instruments, and monitoring equipment.
• Ability to interpret complex organizational systems.
• Ability to interact effectively with others in difficult situations.

Benefits

Salary is commensurate with years of experience indicated at the time of application submittal. Experience not disclosed or documented at the time of application will not be considered for initial step placement.

Pay

Starting salary range: $103.818 - $120.355

Schedule

Shift: 6:30AM - 4:30PM
