Advanced Practice Nurse

Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the attending Physician.

The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent high quality perioperative and postoperative care for all surgery patients
• Function as an active member of the surgery patient care team
• Perform history and physical examinations in preparation for surgical procedures
• Order appropriate laboratory radiologic and special diagnostic tests and interpret and report to surgical team
• Assist with inpatient daily rounds as assigned
• Communicate complicated surgical emergencies and prepare for surgery
• Thoroughly explain procedures to patients prior to testing
• Interpret and communicate results of laboratory and diagnostic testing
• Collaborate with the attending physician to discharge patients
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and time management
• Coordinate care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers
• Cross-cover the critical care unit as needed

Requirements

• APN or NP with acute care certification preferred
• Two years acute care hospital experience preferred
• Current APN or PA certification
• Current NJ state license
• Certified CPR (CPR) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Pay

The pay range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $57.69 - $91.34 per hour.

Schedule

The shift is Night.
