About the role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical and/or surgical services to individuals, families, and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will practice autonomously and collaboratively within their established scope.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients on the inpatient Gynecologic Oncology Service.
- Perform standard exams and evaluations for inpatient and emergency room consults.
- Conduct pre- and post-operative evaluation of gynecologic oncology inpatients.
- First assist in the operating room.
- Assist with the management of inpatient chemotherapy treatments.
- Communicate with primary and multidisciplinary teams to collaborate on the management of gynecologic oncology diagnoses.
- Request, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests and take appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Identify and report specific signs and symptoms, problems, or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication, and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes.
- Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with attending physicians, residents, and fellows to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems.
Skills
- Demonstrates current knowledge and expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards, and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with Acute Care certification and RNFA certification.
- Experience in gynecologic oncology or care of surgical patients is preferred.

Pay
Minimum salary: $105,000.00
