About the role
As an Advanced Planning Sales Counselor for Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, you will assist families in making pre-need funeral and cremation arrangements. You will work independently to solicit new leads, referrals, and sales opportunities, and spend no more than 20% of your time at the location.
Responsibilities
- Meet with client families on a pre-need basis to present all options for funeral and cremation services and related merchandise.
- Work independently to create and make sales away from the location, establishing a professional relationship with client families.
- Proactively develop new prospects and community-based contacts through various methods such as cold calling, telephone solicitation, seminar attendance, and referrals.
- Maintain positive and proactive communication with all departments to ensure a smooth service process for the family.
- Participate in required training initiatives and report progress to the Sales Manager (or Unit Leader).
- Adhere to pricing structures, complete paperwork accurately and timely, and submit all contracts, required documents, and payments to the business office within required deadlines.

Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; some college or college degree preferred.
- A proven track record of success in outside sales production.
- A current life insurance license or the ability to obtain one.
- A valid driver's license in good standing and an acceptable driving record.
- A minimum of 2 years of sales experience.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; bilingual is a plus.
