About the Role
The Advanced Modality Supervisor manages clinical operations for specific imaging modalities, including equipment, personnel, scheduling, financial, and customer service functions within a radiology department. They operate medical imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images and may oversee secondary modalities. This role requires supervision of staff and coordination of daily activities to ensure efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate clinical operations, including equipment, staff, and scheduling
- Operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Maintain effective communication with team members and patients
- Adapt to new processes and equipment as needed
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience; supervisory experience preferred
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association for advanced modality
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Excellent communication and computer literacy
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, reaching, and operating equipment
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and perform repetitive motions
- Lift and move patients and objects up to 50 lbs unassisted; push/pull up to 350 lbs
- Visual and auditory acuity for diagnostic tasks
- Qualified for respirator use and able to work indoors in confined spaces as needed
