About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team. This role plays a critical part in transitioning operations into the company’s next-generation Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, test and implement appropriate Advanced Manufacturing technologies across diverse products and production processes.
  • Manage, advise and prioritize activities and projects for 4-5 Advanced Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Communicate and manage technical requirements with internal and external collaborators and suppliers for successful project development and execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with pertinent manufacturing research organizations such as universities, suppliers etc. working in the area of Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Plan, develop, and report out on Advanced Manufacturing projects from early to late stages of maturity to production implementation.
  • Implement TRL (Technology Readiness Level) and MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) frameworks into project planning and execution.
  • Interact and interface with Moog employees from other departments, disciplines, sites and divisions to understand business needs and opportunities for Advanced Manufacturing technologies.
  • Support continued manufacturing improvement activities involving Advanced Manufacturing technologies resulting in productivity optimization via throughput increase, product quality, or process variation reduction.
  • Become intimately and fundamentally knowledgeable of Moog’s products, designs, and customers’ needs to identify and prioritize Advanced Manufacturing projects for the largest impact to organizational and operational goals and objectives.
  • Travel may be required as technologies and projects are being researched, developed, implemented, and tested.
  • Work effectively in a cross-functional matrix organization with other teams and sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred. Master’s or other advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience including projects in manufacturing engineering, industrial robotics, industrial automation and control systems, or industrial engineering; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others.
  • Fundamental knowledge of TRL (Technology Readiness Level) and MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) concepts and frameworks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, mechanical systems, software, electronics, and electromechanical systems.
  • General knowledge of AI and practical AI applications in engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and cope with change.

Qualifications

  • Conceptual understanding of computer programming and software development relating to manufacturing systems.
  • Practical computer programming experience is a plus.
  • CAD software knowledge and experience. Siemens NX experience a plus.

Pay

Buffalo, NY: $125,000.00–$160,000.00 Annually
