Advanced Locate Technician

About the role

Blood Hound offers a comprehensive suite of private utility locating and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) services to its diverse customer base, including Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, and other Construction and Infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced observational skills and deductive reasoning to identify, locate, and mark all utilities within the specified job scope.
• Possess troubleshooting skills and be willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
• Mark ALL facilities regardless of ownership or type, including sewer, electric, abandoned facilities, chemical transport, and other exotic utilities.

Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of private locating experience with a demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail, or 2 years of public locating experience with exposure to multiple utility types.
• Experience reading CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to pass a 'fit to work' physical examination.
• Over time, after-hours work and be available for some overnight travel.
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain a professional and positive attitude.

Pay

The pay for this position is $24-$26/hour, plus commission.

Schedule

The selected candidate may reside anywhere within the Des Moines, IA area. This position covers but is not limited to: Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota (as necessary).
