For our client, a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space, we are seeking an Advanced Industrial Controls Engineer specializing in HMI to join their team. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Ignition 8 HMI applications for various automated systems
- Collaborate with PLC engineers to create reliable HMI solutions using PLC tags
- Establish coding standards and reusable templates to enhance project consistency
- Develop safety-related HMI screens in collaboration with the Safety PLC team
- Assist in field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of HMI applications
- Document HMI standards and best practices for team knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Ignition 8 (Vision and Perspective) HMI applications
- Strong background in PLC programming, especially Rockwell Studio 5000/RSLogix
- Experience in creating operator-facing interfaces for industrial systems
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics with commissioning experience
- Familiarity with FactoryTalk ME/SE and Ignition scripting (Python/Jython) is advantageous
- Experience in material handling or warehouse automation preferred

Pay
$149,000 – $204,600 annually
