About the role

Our DoD/Aerospace client is seeking an Advanced Engineering Technician for an onsite contract role in McLeansville, NC. This position supports hands-on fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment for mission-critical defense programs.

12 – 24 months with possibility of going direct

$31.71/hr

Schedule

First Shift

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, modify, assemble, and test prototype electro-mechanical systems
  • Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics
  • Perform machining using manual and CNC equipment (HAAS mills, 4th/5th axis, lathes)
  • Use SolidWorks or CAM software for fabrication support
  • Apply GD&T principles and precision measurement tools
  • Design and build custom tooling and fixtures
  • Troubleshoot and improve technical processes
  • Support experimental and specialized test equipment development

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical experience
  • 3+ years of machining / engineering technician experience
  • Advanced manual and CNC machining experience
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAM tools
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Advanced machining experience using both manual and CNC controlled equipment, including:
    • HAAS Mills
    • 4th and 5th Axis machining
    • Lathes
  • U.S. citizenship required due to work performed in secure facilities
