About the role
Our DoD/Aerospace client is seeking an Advanced Engineering Technician for an onsite contract role in McLeansville, NC. This position supports hands-on fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment for mission-critical defense programs.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate, modify, assemble, and test prototype electro-mechanical systems
- Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics
- Perform machining using manual and CNC equipment (HAAS mills, 4th/5th axis, lathes)
- Use SolidWorks or CAM software for fabrication support
- Apply GD&T principles and precision measurement tools
- Design and build custom tooling and fixtures
- Troubleshoot and improve technical processes
- Support experimental and specialized test equipment development
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent technical experience
- 3+ years of machining / engineering technician experience
- Advanced manual and CNC machining experience
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAM tools
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Advanced machining experience using both manual and CNC controlled equipment, including:
- HAAS Mills
- 4th and 5th Axis machining
- Lathes
- U.S. citizenship required due to work performed in secure facilities
