Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
About the role
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician performs duties of the Emergency Department Technician and other routine duties within the limit of their training and certification in caring for the Emergency Department patients. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Additional responsibilities may be required.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties of the Emergency Department Technician
- Care for Emergency Department patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Render care within the limits of their training and certification
- May perform additional duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience with EKG, Phlebotomy, and Cardiac Monitoring preferred
- High School Degree or GED required
- South Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required
- Advance Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) with American Heart Association (AHA), and NIHSS stroke scale with American Heart Association (AHA) if unit required
Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- South Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license
- Advance Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) with American Heart Association (AHA), and NIHSS stroke scale with American Heart Association (AHA) certification if required
