About the role

At General Dynamics Mission Systems, we create advanced technologies and solutions that help protect our nation's security. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies like AI, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics to support our customers' missions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
  • Maintain and advance a DevOps infrastructure used by numerous programs at GDMS.
  • Install new software, troubleshoot, grant permissions to applications.
  • Perform server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual hardware and network-related interfaces on servers.
  • Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and monitor server performance using monitoring tools.
  • Define and build different development, testing, and production environments.
  • Engineer and continuously maintain secure, reliable, and flexible best practice infrastructures and systems.
  • Implement Linux/Windows security controls to maintain system compliance.
  • Architect, deploy, and continuously maintain secure, reliable, and flexible best practice infrastructures and systems.
  • Define and build the different development, testing, and production environments.
  • Engineer with system security as the primary priority.
  • Collaborate and communicate with those of varying levels of technical skill.
  • Multi-task, attention to detail, and strong motivational skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills from a variety of viewpoints.
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of RedHat Linux, VMware vSphere, application environments and related technologies.
  • Proficient knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting and scripting.
  • Proficient with developer tools/concepts/scripting/methodologies - JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Docker, Ansible, Vault, Python, Powershell, Bash.
  • Define and build the different development, testing, and production environments.
  • Engineer with system security as the primary priority.
  • Handle all levels of support with ability to collaborate and communicate with those of varying levels of technical skill.
  • Multi-task, attention to detail, and strong motivational skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills from a variety of viewpoints.
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.

Skills

  • Familiarity with compliance controls: STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), RMF (Risk Management Framework), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), NIST SP 800-171/800-53, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
  • Ability to engineer with system security as the number one priority.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and adopt new technologies while continuously developing oneself.
  • Ability to handle all levels of support with ability to collaborate and communicate with those of varying levels of technical skill.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills from a variety of viewpoints.
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Pay

USD $123,069.00/Yr. - USD $133,165.00/Yr.

Schedule

This position will be 100% on-site. Remote work will not be an option.
