About the role
PAR Systems is a leading provider of advanced software, automation, and control systems across various industries. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Controls Engineer to join our Automation business segment. The team specializes in designing and building automated assembly systems used in sectors such as life science, aerospace, nuclear, and marine.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement control systems to meet customer requirements
- Collaborate with a team to innovate and integrate new technologies like PLC/PC programming, motion control, robotics, and vision systems
- Support factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing
- Drive individual tasks to completion and assume increasing levels of responsibility on projects
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous learning within the team
- Travel to customer sites for installations (up to 25%)
Requirements
- 3+ years of controls engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- Experience supporting a variety of project tasks including understanding customer requirements, designing controls systems, writing software, powering up and commissioning machines, and supporting factory and site acceptance testing
- Proficient in PLC/PC programming, motion control, robotics, and vision for automation
- Experience with Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View, Cognex VisionPro and Insight, Fanuc TP Programming and RoboGuide, Epson RC+, Omron Sysmac Studio and Ace Visual Studio, C#, and VB
- Ability to provide mentorship to junior engineers and drive individual tasks to completion
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for installations (up to 25%)
Qualifications
- US person
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical is a plus
