About the role

This role focuses on designing and optimizing natural gas liquefaction (LNG) processes and proprietary LNG equipment. The engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across commercial, project management, mechanical design, manufacturing, machinery, R&D, and startup functions to execute projects successfully and enhance products and processes. Approximately 10–15% domestic and international travel to client offices, contractor locations, and plant sites is required.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering expertise to design and implement world-class natural gas liquefaction processes and equipment.
  • Perform advanced process cycle simulations for natural gas liquefaction and related systems.
  • Complete detailed thermal design of proprietary heat transfer equipment (coil wound heat exchanger) manufactured by Honeywell LNG.
  • Conduct relief and depressuring scenario analyses for proprietary equipment using established tools and methodologies.
  • Support plant operations through startup, performance testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including commercial, project management, mechanical design, manufacturing, machinery, R&D, and start-up—to ensure seamless project execution and drive product development and improvement.
  • Participate in P&ID reviews and HAZOPs at contractor offices to ensure safety, operability, and design integrity.

Requirements

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with process simulation software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in chemical engineering principles and practices.
  • Solid understanding of LNG thermodynamics and cryogenic processes, process control and instrumentation, and compressor dynamics and anti-surge control.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status under asylum/refugee status, or ability to obtain export authorization).
