About the Role
The Advanced Business Banking Associate plays a critical role in providing an exceptional customer experience and ensuring that our customers are our first priority. BBAs facilitate interactions between customers and bankers (officers, loan operations, analysts, etc.) to ensure rapid response, error-free processes, consistent communication, and a professional, friendly experience. As a front-line position, you are the face of the bank to many customers. You will communicate professionally, demonstrate optimism and tenacity in solving customer issues, and consistently deliver outstanding service. This role is key in developing strong customer relationships, gathering feedback, and advocating for service, product, or process improvements to ensure Minnwest remains the best bank in the market.
Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary customer service; directly assist customers or facilitate requests through the proper channels.
- Answer routine telephone and mail inquiries, including interest paid and due, loan payoffs, and verification of payments.
- Work with Ag or Commercial Bankers, Credit Analysts, and customers to gather loan and financial information.
- Receive and initiate the loan workflow with customer information for proposed loans and guide customers through the process.
- Order title work (pre and post), flood determinations, appraisals, Phase 1, UCC searches, etc., as needed.
- Complete loan input worksheets and order loan documents; validate against write-ups and approvals upon completion.
- Perfect liens for mortgages and UCC filings.
- Process advances, wires, and fee payments after loan closing.
- Organize and maintain customer files and records according to established procedures and retention guidelines.
- Image physical loan files.
- Process loan checklists, eligibility checklists, and paid note files.
- Maintain and monitor line ticklers on core and customer ticklers in Sageworks.
- Assist with processing construction draws as needed, and research and identify system problems or errors.
- Collaborate with Loan Operations Specialists to ensure rapid customer response, error-free processes, and a smooth experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 2 years of customer service experience in a banking environment.
- 2 years of previous loan operations, loan processing, or loan department experience.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and follow through.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Adaptability, flexibility, learning agility, and openness to feedback.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Microsoft Office knowledge and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-year degree or 5 years of related experience, with lending experience preferred.
- Previous experience with commercial and/or ag lending.
Work Environment
- Requires face-to-face interaction and coordination with other employees and departments.
- Involves working at a computer and utilizing a telephone.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Schedule
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay
$24.80 - $28.00/hour. The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location. The actual range may differ based on the role’s location and factors such as candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
