Advanced Architectural Designer

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate architectural design, documentation, and technical solutions throughout all project phases.
• Prepare presentation materials, drawings, renderings, and models for internal reviews, client presentations, and agency submissions.
• Produce accurate and coordinated construction documents while maintaining Selldorf Architects' standards for quality and precision.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute thoughtful ideas that advance the overall design quality of the project.
• Participate in code analysis, zoning research, detailing, material selection, and technical coordination.
• Cook up effectively with consultants and internal project teams to ensure integrated, well-coordinated design solutions.
• Participate actively in Construction Administration, including the review of RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, field observations, punch lists, and coordination with contractors.
• Manage assigned tasks independently while maintaining project schedules and communicating progress proactively.
• Mentor and support junior staff by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• Approximately 4-8 years of professional architectural experience.
• Strong design judgment with demonstrated experience developing projects from concept through construction.
• Excellent knowledge of building systems, detailing, construction documentation, and constructability.
• Working knowledge of building codes and zoning regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit required.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-assisted design workflows preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate design ideas through drawings, physical and digital models, renderings, and emerging visualization tools.
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Architectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure is preferred.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Ability to perform consistent work on PC.
• Occasional domestic travel may be requested.

Compensation And Benefits

• The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, licensure, and demonstrated technical proficiency.
