Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the game artist to conceptualize and create compelling 2D/3D animations, visual effects, and motion graphics for game logos, symbols, backgrounds, and features
- Work closely with the software engineer to prepare final animations in formats necessary for integration into the game
- Understand and resolve technical issues relating to graphics (e.g., rendering, streaming, memory management, playback performance, etc.)
- Communicate with the game designer and development team in an iterative development process
- Mentor junior animators in related studios and throughout Game Development
- Maintain well-organized working files to facilitate file sharing and collaborative work
- Archive all final working files for future use using version control software
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in 2D/3D animation and/or motion graphic design
- Gaming industry experience is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Enjoy working in a creative environment
- Strong sense of design, motion, and timing
- Strong sense of animatics and storyboarding for 2D/3D animation
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to receive art direction and provide multiple design solutions
- Ability to adapt to new technologies
- Skills:
- Proficient in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
- Proficiency in 3D animation a plus
- Proficiency in compositing and rotoscoping a plus
- Familiarity with Unity a plus
- Familiarity with shaders and shader creation/coding a plus
Physical Requirements
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands, operate a computer, and have specific vision abilities to include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus working with computer and business equipment
