Advance Med- Surg Instructor

About the role

Jersey College seeks to hire an Advanced Med-Surg Instructor to provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites. The successful candidate will foster students' academic growth and guide their professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
• Create a clinical environment that supports students' academic growth and professional development.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
• Evaluate student competence based on program philosophy and objectives.
• Implement evaluation devices to measure student learning and clinical experience.
• Attend faculty meetings.
• Maintain professional qualifications as a Registered Nurse Instructor through participation in continuing education programs, in-service training, and academic courses.
• Perform other duties as required by the program director, program dean, or campus administration.

Requirements

• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required.
• Valid State RN license required.
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.

• Ability to create and maintain relationships with students and co-workers.
• Motivated, self-directed, team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow.
• Ability to supervise students in the clinical environment.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in the area of nursing specialty.
• Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse that contributes to student learning.

Skills

• Ability to deliver an effective lesson on the level of an RN or PN student.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in the area of nursing specialty.
• Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse that contributes to student learning.
