Adults Social Worker - East Area 2

Surrey County Council is hiring Social Workers to join the East 2 Area team, covering Elmbridge, Mole Valley, and Epsom. This role offers a hybrid work style, combining remote working with two days in the office (pro-rata for part-time).

Pay

The starting salary for this position is £43,633 per annum for 36 hours per week (pro-rata for part-time).

About the Team

The East 2 Area team supports individuals aged 18 and above with eligible care support needs, providing advice, guidance, and access to community resources. The team is forward-thinking, values-driven, and committed to cultural growth, continuous learning, and reflective practice. They celebrate diversity and promote independence and choice while safeguarding those in need.

The team operates under a new model that integrates Connect to Community (C2C) and Area Teams, creating a seamless journey for residents:

• C2C Teams: First point of response for urgent assessments, safeguarding, and support planning.
• Area Teams: Provide continuity for those with longer-term or complex needs, focusing on proactive case management and person-centred care.

The model reduces bureaucracy, increases meaningful time with residents, and prioritizes listening, relationship-building, and solution-focused care. The team is guided by values of collaboration, respect, and ambition for residents.

About the Role

As a Social Worker, you will work across projects ensuring individuals receive support to live independently, healthily, and meaningfully. You will supervise less experienced team members and contribute to their development. The role offers professional supervision, a motivated team, and opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
• Successful completion of an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme if qualified after June 2012.
• Experience in Social Work, including assessment and risk management skills.
• Commitment to professional development and up-to-date knowledge of practice issues.
• Valid UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel across a wide geographical area (reasonable adjustments available for disabilities or long-term health conditions).

An enhanced DBS check for regulated activity and Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required.
