Palisades Tahoe is seeking Ski and Snowboard Instructors of all experience levels to promote snow sports with exceptional guest service by providing safe, enjoyable, and effective lessons for kids and adults. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Pay
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and travel.
Base hourly pay range: $21.00 - $40.33 per hour. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and region-specific benefits.

Responsibilities
- Assure customer satisfaction with safe, friendly, and efficient service
- Provide exceptional guest service to students and guests of all ages through personable use of modern teaching techniques
- Instruct and educate guests of all ages in skiing and snowboarding using modern teaching methods while maintaining an environment of safety, fun, and learning
- Clarify customer's expectations and goals at the beginning of each lesson
- Provide individual or group instruction
- Analyze problems and resolve them in a positive and safe manner
- Select appropriate terrain and pacing for skills being developed
- Participate in snowboard or skiing clinics to stay current with modern and efficient teaching methods
- Communicate daily with fellow staff to maintain awareness of mountain operations and activities
- Perform other duties such as cleaning staff facilities, shoveling during snowstorms, setting up and taking down meeting area signs and fencing, training on and off snow, and helping students in the rental shop fit boots
Requirements
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness
- Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Neat and clean appearance in compliance with company grooming standards
- Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
- Work well as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, hear, and ski
- Capable of walking, standing, and skiing 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift
- Capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
- Continuously exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to extreme cold, wetness, humidity, and occasionally blizzards or extreme storm conditions
- Moderate noise level in the workplace
Skills
- PSIA or AASI certification, and/or Children's Accreditation (preferred)
- Teaching experience in a sports setting with children ages 3-13 (preferred)
- Recreation, education, or child development background (preferred)
- Customer service experience in a resort setting (preferred)
- Skiing and/or snowboarding to a strong intermediate level
