Adult Program Manager

About the role

Sunday River SnowSports School is seeking an Adult Program Manager to oversee and direct the daily operations of the Adult Day Programs while serving as a key leader within the Snowsports School training program. A core responsibility of this role is to help grow the Adult Day Program and enhance and develop the team through our inhouse training program in collaboration with the Training Coordinator and Snowsports School Director, ensuring both guests and team members are supported in a positive and professional environment. Snowsports School Managers are responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest and team member. This includes, but is not limited to, welcoming guests in meeting areas, supporting and developing team members, guiding the learning experience, recognizing and highlighting student successes throughout lessons, and encouraging guests to return for future lesson experiences. Every guest and team member interaction should focus on sharing our passion for snowsports while helping create lifelong skiers and snowboarders. Managers are expected to provide every guest and team member with a caring, safe, fun, and inspirational environment, with safety, learning, teamwork, and enjoyment serving as the foundation of every experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct the daily operations of the Snowsports School Adult Programs (ages 15+)
• Work within the Adult Programs budget with a focus on driving revenue while controlling payroll and operational expenses
• Hold daily team member meetings to encourage open communication, teamwork, and operational consistency
• Hold team members accountable for the proper performance of their roles and responsibilities
• Be available to team members for questions, concerns, support, and problem-solving
• Utilize Flaik, including scheduling, check-in, class management, time keeping, bookings and monitoring of daily schedule
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and developing team members
• Provide open, timely, and professional communication while setting clear expectations for all Adult Program team members
• Work with the Training Coordinator and Snowsports School Director to support and enhance the Snowsports School training program
• Collaborate with the Snowsports School Management Team to facilitate the best possible experience for every guest and team member
• Work with the Snowsports School Management Team to maximize operational efficiency and profit contribution throughout the department
• Assist instructors and guests on-hill during lessons as needed
• Provide constructive feedback to instructors and work alongside the Snowsports School Training Coordinator to create training opportunities that enhance the guest experience and improve instructor performance across the department
• Work with the Snowsports School Training Team to manage and support Schoox, including updating training content and assisting team members with access and use of the platform
• Assist in training team members on Flaik for scheduling, bookings, lesson management, and operational functions within the Snowsports School
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by supervisors
• Assist other departments and resort operations when requested

Qualifications

• PSIA/AASI Credentials and Certification preferred
• Be able to communicate well with guests, other team members and managers; clear, courteous, and timely communication skills are required
• Willingness to work with people of various ages, experience, athletic abilities, and desires as it relates to snow sports
• Ability to keep a positive outlook, problem solve, improvise, adapt, adjust, and overcome challenges in the learning environment as needed
• Ability to guide quality SnowSport experiences for guests, time and time again
• Be available to work weekends and holiday periods

Pay

Wages range from $25 - $28 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement
