Adult Oncology Nurse Navigator
Job Summary
At North Texas Division Office, we invest in our Adult Oncology Nurse Navigators like you. HCA Healthcare has committed up to $300 million in programs to support our team members over three years. This role is based at Medical City Plano and Medical City Dallas, focusing on lung oncology patients. There's potential for head and neck patients at Medical City Las Colinas.
Qualifications
- Three to five years oncology nursing experience
- Experience in program development preferred
- Experience as a nurse navigator and/or patient educator in oncology preferred
- Experience in leadership and customer service – preferred
- Average of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) achievement or in progress – preferred
What You Will Do
- Serve as a liaison between the patient and family with the multidisciplinary healthcare providers
- Collaborate with local physician liaisons and leadership to conduct internal and external outreach and marketing
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the management of resources to achieve efficient, high-quality outcomes for cancer patients
- Assess patients’ medical, social, and psychosocial needs/barriers to care and link them to appropriate resources
- Provide appropriate teaching, outreach, and support to patients and families and ensure the patient is empowered to manage their own healthcare needs
- Conduct follow-up conversations with all patients and communicate any concerns, changes, or social needs to the appropriate physician or other care providers
What You Will Need
- Experience in program development preferred
- Experience as a nurse navigator and/or patient educator in oncology preferred
- Experience in leadership and customer service – preferred
- Average of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
