Adult Day Instructor In Person Hiring Event 8.18.26 1pm-5pm

Location: Elwyn Options, 3524 Edgmont Ave, Brookhaven, PA 19015 (Brookhaven Shopping Center, next to Park's Cleaners). Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Pay: $16.50/hour.

About the role

Elwyn seeks an Adult Day Instructor to provide supervision, guidance, instruction, and skill-building to assigned individuals within a specific program site. This role focuses on daily living activities, safety, community inclusion, and interpersonal interactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all levels of supervision for assigned individuals in accordance with their support plans.
• Supervises, instructs, and supports individuals in activities aligned with their support plans, including:
  • Ethnic and cultural support
  • Recreational and socialization activities
  • Physical fitness and healthy living
  • Self-advocacy and independence
  • Cooking, housekeeping, and money management
  • Social awareness and interpersonal relationships
  • Personal hygiene
• Administers medication as scheduled or needed, following support plans and protocols.
• Follows physicians' orders for diet protocols and other medical treatments, ensuring staff awareness.
• Coordinates transportation needs for individuals as outlined in their support plans.
• Prepares for and responds to emergencies, including CPR, first aid, crisis intervention, fire drills, and evacuations.
• Completes required documentation, such as attendance reports, daily goal reports, assessments, and incident reports.
• Supports individuals during community activities to ensure safety and engagement.
• Ensures the program site meets safety, cleanliness, and state licensing standards, including vehicle maintenance.
• Assists in resolving problematic situations and notifies management of emergencies or unresolved issues.
• Maintains adequate and safe classroom supplies, notifying supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Provides coverage for lunch and bus duty, as well as personal care for individuals as needed.
• Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) process and reports issues with support plans.
• Reports all incidents as required by mandated reporter regulations.
• Reports policy infractions to program management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent judgment and ability to independently solve problems with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, medication administration, and crisis intervention techniques per agency protocols.
• Current, valid driver’s license in state of residence with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience in the U.S. and an acceptable driving record.
