About the Role

Monitor student behavior at traffic intersections; escort children across the street when coming and going from school; assure student safety as they cross.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with safe crossing at an assigned intersection or crosswalk.
• Observe traffic and safety laws and rules.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public.
• Comprehend and follow instructions.

Requirements

• Knowledge of traffic and safety laws and rules.
• Ability to understand and work within scope of authority.
• Valid First Aid Certificate issued by an authorized agency.

Qualifications

• Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalent, or sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities.
• Required documents: High School Diploma, equivalent, Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or higher education degree (must be attached to application).

Special Requirements

• Out-of-district applicants must complete T.B. testing and fingerprinting if selected.
• A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
