Admitting Technician

Overview

Creates accurate and thorough registration for each patient visit. Responsible for obtaining demographic and financial information, as well as obtaining signatures required for successful billing submission. Collects patient liability before or at the time of service as defined by the patient’s insurance plan. Identifies those patients who may need financial assistance. Interact in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patient’s needs are met.

• Review and gather patient demographics and insurance
• Acquire and explain all required patient signatures for consents
• Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls
• Financial Responsibility
• Create & present visit estimates
• Ask for payments
• Maintain point of service goals & standards
• Balance and close cash drawers

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1-year medical office or equivalent experience preferred
• Other: Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheets, email and web browser.
