About the Role
Handles the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department admissions. Ensures patient information is collected and patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Obtain all pertinent information, including demographic and insurance details.
- Ensure all admissions forms are complete, accurate, and correctly spelled.
- Apply patient labels to all necessary forms.
- Provide information to patients or representatives about billing, complaint processes, patient rights, HIPAA, and visiting hours.
- Collect payments (when previous arrangements have been made or a co-payment is required), record payments, and forward them to business office personnel.
- Participate in performance improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
