Tower Behavioral Health (TBH) in Reading, PA is expanding and seeking passionate Registered Nurses (RN) to join our nursing team. Be part of our state-of-the-art Psych-Safe facility featuring spacious outdoor courtyards, indoor gymnasiums, and an herb garden. Located on a serene, partially wooded parcel on the west side of Route 183 in Reading, PA, TBH serves adults, adolescents, and seniors through inpatient and outpatient programs, counseling, and treatment for substance use disorders. New RN graduates are welcome to apply.

Schedule

• Full Time Weekend Days
• 3x12hr shifts

Pay

Salary range: $41 - $50 per hour (including shift differential). Compensation varies based on role and level of experience.

Purpose Statement

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude to foster a supportive and therapeutic environment. Patient safety is a top priority.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of patients, developing and implementing nursing care plans, maintaining medical records, and educating patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies.
• Ensure physician’s orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
• Assess patient’s status on an ongoing basis and document pertinent information gathered.
• Collaborate with others to ensure all patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met. Address and resolve customer complaints when needs are not met.
• Notify physician of significant changes in patient status, such as difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, or changes in response to medications.
• Ensure nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs and the initial treatment plan is completed upon admission.
• Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications per ordered note and document controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
• Complete admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately as directed.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, respecting personal space, giving direct attention, and maintaining rational detachment.
• Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in patient treatment.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
• One or more years’ nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility preferred.
• Current RN license as required by state.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
